Nova Zembla is that funkly place at the corner of Atlantic and Henry that you've seen slowly grow over the past several years to become something of a player in the eclectic chachki and rugged furniture business on the western end of Atlantic's furniture row.
One of the things I love about Nova Zembla is the small stuff: coasters, license plate clocks, indian print journals, and cool little ceramic boxes. In a pinch, I know that I can walk into Nova Zembla on the way to a birthday and walk out with a funky little something for less than $20.
Feeling flush? Wanan spend a bit more? The furniture comes custom made and is indestructable. I bought a couch from their supplier, Cisco Brothers, in Los Angeles 22 years ago. I moved it from LA to NY to SF and back to LA only to leave it on an Echo Park curb in April. It simply refused to die. I kid you not, within 3 minutes it was being loaded into the bed of a pick-up, ready to take on a 3rd decade of rear ends.
